Why your website gets no traffic — and what to fix first

Most company websites are invisible for structural reasons, not because the copy is bad. Here is the order that actually matters.

1. You have one page

A single page can rank for roughly one thing. Every service you offer and every market you serve is a separate search with separate intent. One page competing for all of them wins none. This is the single most common cause and the biggest fix.

2. Nothing tells a search engine what you are

No structured data, no clear entity, no consistent description across your site, LinkedIn and directories. Without that, there is nothing to resolve you as — and increasingly it is not Google resolving you but an AI assistant deciding whether to mention you at all.

3. Your pages answer nothing

Pages that describe your company rank for your company name, which people already know. Pages that answer a question your customer actually types — "what does a mobile app cost", "how do I choose a development partner" — are how strangers find you.

4. It is slow, or it is broken on a phone

If your market is on mid-range Android over an unreliable connection, a heavy site is not slow; it is absent. Test on a real device on real mobile data, not on your laptop.

5. You are not measuring

No analytics means every decision after this is a guess. Install it before you change anything, so you can tell whether the change worked.

The channel most companies are missing

AI assistants now send meaningful referral traffic, and on some of our own properties ChatGPT sends multiples of what Google organic does. Being citable is a different discipline from ranking: clear definitional sentences, dated facts, self-contained answers, and crawlers explicitly allowed rather than blocked by default.

Fix them in that order. We do this work.
